Lloyd Kaufman

I was so excited when I received The Nanny Diaries: A Novel, by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus! I had heard amazing things about it, and all of my friends were raving about it.

So, I took out the book to read and immediately got lost in the world of Annie Braddock. Annie is a young woman who moves to New York City from her small town, determined to make something of herself. She finds a job as a nanny for an Upper East Side family, which leads her on a journey full of unpredictable twists and turns.

Throughout her adventures, Annie learns valuable lessons about life and relationships. She discovers that sometimes you have to take risks if you want to be successful, but also realizes that not everything is as it seems. Along the way she also learns how to be strong and independent – something we could all benefit from!

I really appreciate how The Nanny Diaries: A Novel realistically portrays modern day issues such as class struggles, gender roles, and familial conflicts. It’s funny and heartwarming at times and heartbreaking at others. It’s definitely a must-read!
