My Experience for Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who

Ray Cooley

Horton the elephant heard a tiny, _bold_ voice coming from a speck of dust and his curiosity was piqued. He decided to investigate and sure enough, he discovered that there were people living on the speck!

He knew he had to save them so he put the speck in a safe place and vowed to protect it. But no one believed him and they tried to take it away from him!

Horton was determined to save the Who’s on the speck and keep their world safe. So he took a stand and shouted out with all his might: “I _underline_ believe in the Whos down in Whoville!”

His friends started to believe in Horton and joined him in shouting out, “We _italic_believe in the Whos down in Whoville!”

Soon everyone was chanting together, spreading the message far and wide. The Mayor of Whoville heard their cries and thanked Horton for saving their world.

The moral of this story is that even when something seems _bold_impossible, you should never give up hope. With courage and determination, anything is possible!

What I don’t Like

1. Limited vocabulary – some of the language used in this book may be too complex for younger readers
2. Repetitive plot – the same storyline is repeated throughout the book, which might become boring for some children
3. Lack of illustrations – there are no illustrations in the book, which could make it difficult for some kids to understand
4. Short length – the book is only 48 pages long, so it might not keep a child’s attention for very long
