One of my favorite scenes in October Sky is when Homer and his friends build their own rocket out of scrap parts they find around town. After weeks of hard work and dedication, they finally succeed in launching their homemade rocket into the night sky. Seeing their faces light up as they watched their creation soar higher and higher was an unforgettable memory for me.
