My Experience for Side of the Mountain
My family and I recently set off on a camping adventure to the wild side of the mountain. We knew it would be an amazing experience, but nothing could have prepared us for the journey we were about to embark on.
We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived at our destination. We had read Jean Craighead George’s Side of the Mountain, but the real thing was so much better than we could’ve ever imagined! The panoramic views were breathtaking, and watching animals like deer, bear and birds roam freely in their natural habitat was an incredible sight.
The best part was getting lost in the wilderness. We hiked up mountains, fished in rivers, and explored caves. It was so peaceful being out there in nature with no one else around. We also discovered a secret waterfall hidden deep in the forest, which made for a perfect swimming spot!
We learned many lessons during our journey, such as how to survive in the wilderness and how to respect nature. But most importantly, we realized that life is too short not to take risks and explore new adventures.
I highly recommend Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George for anyone who is looking for an inspiring and thrilling read about life in the wild!
What I don’t Like
1. The plot is slow-paced: The story unfolds slowly, with much of the action taking place in a small mountain town and its natural surroundings. This may not be appealing to readers looking for a fast-paced adventure.
2. The characters are stereotypical: Much of the characterization in Side of the Mountain relies on stock characters such as the wise old Native American guide and the rugged outdoorsman. These characters may be too familiar for some readers.
3. There is limited character development: While Jean Craighead George does an admirable job developing her main characters, she doesn’t explore their motivations or inner lives very deeply. As a result, some readers may find it difficult to connect with them emotionally.
4. It contains environmental themes: Side of the Mountain has an underlying environmental message, which may be off-putting to readers who don’t share its view of nature conservation.
