I was so excited to finally get my hands on the August: Osage County [Blu-ray]! It had been on my list of must-haves ever since it first released, and I couldn’t believe my luck when I stumbled upon it on Amazon.

The movie itself was even better than I expected. It’s an intense drama featuring a powerhouse cast, with Meryl Streep in the lead role as Violet Weston. She gives a performance that’s both heartbreaking and hilarious – you really can’t help but root for her character throughout the movie. The supporting cast is also amazing, particularly Julia Roberts and Sam Shepherd as her children.

But what really sold me on this Blu-ray release was the added features. It has nearly two hours of special features, including deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, a commentary from director John Wells, and more. I especially loved the feature about how the screenplay was adapted from the original play.

If you’re looking for an intense family drama with award-winning performances from some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, then August: Osage County [Blu-ray] is definitely worth a watch!
