Once upon a time, I was out for a stroll in the deep dark wood and suddenly I heard a roar. It sounded like nothing I had ever heard before. I was scared and quickly hid behind a tree. To my surprise, it was the one and only Gruffalo!

He had big eyes, orange fur and terrible claws that were so sharp they could cut through anything. He was also very wise as he knew all sorts of things about the woodland creatures like where to find food and how to scare away predators.

The Gruffalo wasn’t scary at all, in fact he was quite friendly. He asked me if I wanted to join him on his hunt for some tasty snacks. We went around the wood looking for nuts, berries and any other yummy treats we could find.

We had such a great time exploring the wood together that day and ever since then we have been best friends. Whenever I go out for a walk, I know that the Gruffalo is always there with me ready to show me a new adventure every time!

What I don’t Like

1. The Gruffalo is quite long for younger children to read.
2. The story can be a bit scary for some children.
3. Some of the characters are not easily recognizable and may be confusing to children.
