I’ve been living a sheltered life, never really exploring the world outside of my own little bubble. Until I discovered The Silk Roads: A New History of the World. It was like opening a window to the world, and taking a glimpse at all the history, cultures and customs that I had only ever read about in books.

This book is filled with stories from people who have experienced the silk roads, from traders to travelers, and their tales were both exotic and fascinating. It was like reading an adventure novel – except it was real! I learned so much about different cultures that I had never known before.

The Silk Roads also gave me an insight into how these different cultures interacted, and how they shaped our current world. It’s amazing to see how these interactions between nations resulted in cultural exchange, trade, and even wars throughout history.
