My Experience for The Napping House

Lloyd Kaufman

Once upon a time, there was a napping house where everyone was sleeping. Grandma in her rocker, the dog in his chair, and even the cat was asleep on the stairs. All of a sudden, everybody woke up! It all started with a sneeze from the mouse who had been napping on the pillow. Everyone started to move around and they all had adventures, just like in The Napping House.

The grandma went out for a walk while the dog chased after a squirrel. The cat curled up under a bush and took a nap while the mouse explored all over the house. Everyone else went off to explore too and have their own fun adventures.

After an exciting day, it was time for bed again. Everyone ran back to their beds–the grandma in her rocker, the dog in his chair, and even the mouse on the pillow! They all snuggled down into their beds and soon enough were fast asleep again in The Napping House.

3. No illustrations: There are no illustrations in this book, which can make it difficult for young children to understand the story.
4. Unable to hold attention: Due to its limited vocabulary and lack of illustrations, The Napping House may be unable to hold the attention of some readers.
