My friends and I had been talking about J. Robert Oppenheimer for weeks, so when I stumbled upon American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer I knew it was the perfect book to learn more about him.

I started reading through American Prometheus and quickly realized that this was much more than a biography; it was a thrilling story of the man who led the Manhattan Project and developed the atomic bomb. It showed me Oppenheimer’s successes, his struggles, and ultimately his tragic downfall.

The author, Kai Bird, did an amazing job of drawing me in and making me feel like I was living through some of Oppenheimer’s most important moments. I felt excited by his accomplishments and saddened by his mistakes. It was truly an emotional rollercoaster!
