My Experience for Arrival by Shaun Tan

Lloyd Kaufman

I was recently introduced to the amazing Arrival by Shaun Tan. I had heard about it, of course, but I never imagined that it could be so captivating and moving!

Upon cracking the spine open, I was immediately enamored with the beautiful illustrations and detailed stories that were depicted within its pages. From The Arrival, a tale of immigrants in a strange and foreign land, to Tales from Outer Suburbia, which touched on themes of fantasy, adventure and surrealism, every page was packed with something new and exciting.

The illustrations were especially mesmerizing; their ethereal quality made me feel like I was in a dream-like state, one where anything seemed possible. With each flip of the page, my imagination ran wild as I was taken on a magical journey through these stories.

Shaun Tan has an incredible ability to capture emotions through his artwork and storytelling. Every story is full of vivid images that bring out happiness, sadness, fear and curiosity. It’s no wonder why this book has been praised time and time again for its captivating qualities!

If you’re looking for an escape from reality or just want to explore your imagination a bit more then I highly recommend giving Arrival by Shaun Tan a chance. You won’t be disappointed!

What I don’t Like

Product Disadvantages:
1. Not suitable for young children – the complex imagery and lack of text may be too much for younger readers to comprehend.
2. Limited interactivity – the book does not have any interactive features such as sound or animation.
3. Overwhelmingly dark visuals – some of the illustrations can be quite intense and could potentially be frightening or disturbing to some viewers.
4. No narrative structure – while this is a strength in certain respects, there is no traditional story arc which could leave readers feeling unsure of what happened at the end.
