Ray Cooley

I recently watched Bad Words and I must say, it was one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time! Not only did it have some great humor, but the story was engaging and the characters were so likable.

Jason Bateman plays Guy Trilby, a 40-year-old misanthrope who is determined to find a loophole in the rules of the Golden Quill national spelling bee and compete against 8th graders. He quickly becomes an unlikely hero for all of the other kids who are also trying to win.

The movie Bad Words is full of laugh-out-loud moments that will make you chuckle throughout. Guy Trilby’s wit and dry sense of humor add to the hilarity. Bateman does an excellent job at playing this role and his interactions with the young spelling bee contestants are both humorous and heartwarming.
