My Experience for Boondocks: Season 1
I recently purchased Boondocks: Season 1 from Amazon and I’m absolutely in love with it! The show follows the adventures of an African-American family as they move to a predominately white suburb. It’s packed with hilarious one-liners, witty sarcasm and clever observations about race and class. It’s like nothing else on television!
The first season is especially great because you get to learn the back stories of the characters. You meet Robert “Granddad” Freeman and his two grandsons, Huey and Riley. Granddad moves them all out of their home in the South Side of Chicago to the peaceful suburbs of Woodcrest County.
The show follows their crazy antics as they learn to adjust to life in the suburbs. Granddad must deal with being surrounded by conservative white people while his two grandsons cause mischief in school and around the neighborhood. From fights at school to riots in town, no situation is too much for this family.
I can’t recommend Boondocks: Season 1 enough! The show is laugh-out-loud funny, but also tackles real issues like racism and poverty with a sense of humor that anyone can appreciate. If you’re looking for something different that will make you think, then give this show a try!
