My Experience for Dog Man: For Whom the Ball Rolls

Lloyd Kaufman

Dog Man: For Whom the Ball Rolls is a hilarious graphic novel by New York Times bestselling author and artist Dav Pilkey. I was so excited to read this book that when it came in the mail, I literally jumped up and down with joy!

The story follows Dog Man, a lovable pooch who is part-dog, part-man, as he battles a new supervillain — Petey the Cat — while also tackling everyday challenges like trying to be a good pet parent and helping out his friends. As always, Dog Man has plenty of adventures along the way.

One of my favorite parts about this book was seeing Dog Man’s amazing transformations throughout the story. He could turn into anything from an airplane to a motorcycle to an elephant! It was super cool to see how these changes helped him solve puzzles and defeat villains.

I also loved all of the puns and jokes throughout the book; they were so clever and witty! My favorite one was when Dog Man said “A superhero is only as strong as his comic relief”. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at that one!

Overall, Dog Man: For Whom The Ball Rolls is an entertaining read with lots of exciting twists and turns. If you’re looking for a good laugh or just want some fun adventure, then this book is definitely for you!

What I don’t Like

1. Lacks plot structure: The story lacks a clear plot structure, and it can be difficult to follow at times.

2. Characters are too simple: Many of the characters are one-dimensional, making them less interesting than they could be.

3. Pacing is slow: The pacing can be quite slow, as there are a lot of jokes and references that may go over the heads of younger readers.

4. Dialogues are repetitive: Some of the dialogues can become repetitive, with characters saying the same thing in different ways.

5. Archaic language: The language used by some characters is outdated or archaic, which can make it difficult for children to understand.
