I’m sure a lot of people have heard about Edmund Kemper, the notorious serial killer who murdered 10 people in the 1970s. But what many don’t know is that he was actually a very intelligent man, with an IQ of 145. So when I decided to pick up Edmund Kemper: A Historical Look at Serial Killers & Murderers, I was curious to learn more about this enigmatic figure.

The book starts off with an overview of serial killer psychology and then dives into the life of Edmund Kemper. It gives an incredibly detailed account of his upbringing and how it shaped him as a person. It also provides insight into his relationships with other people and how they impacted his behavior.

One thing that really stood out to me was the fact that even though Kemper had a tendency towards violence and murder, he was able to maintain relationships with women; something that is unusual for serial killers. He even had long-term relationships with some of them!
