My Experience for Encino Man

Ray Cooley

Do you remember Encino Man? Sean Astin, Pauly Shore, and Brendan Fraser starred in this classic 1992 comedy. I recently had the chance to watch it again on DVD, and it was just as funny as I remembered!

The plot follows two high schoolers, Dave (Astin) and Stoney (Shore), who find a frozen caveman (Fraser) in their backyard. After thawing him out, they name him Link and try to pass him off as an exchange student from Encino, California.

There are tons of hilarious scenes throughout the movie, but my favorite has to be when Stoney is teaching Link how to talk. The language barrier between them is outrageous and hysterical! As Link learns English, he begins to understand more of what’s going on around him and starts to fit into modern society.

Encino Man may be a bit silly at times, but it’s definitely a must-see for ’90s fans. Whether you’re looking for some laughs or just want to take a trip down memory lane, this movie will not disappoint!

What I don’t Like

1. Absurd premise with no real plot – Encino Man follows an odd concept that lacks a cohesive storyline.

2. Stereotypical characters – The movie relies heavily on stereotypes of teenage boys and Californians.

3. Lackluster jokes – Much of the humor in the movie falls flat and fails to generate laughs.

4. Poorly-developed romance – The romantic subplot between Pauly Shore’s character and the female lead is poorly developed and lacks chemistry.

5. Weak special effects – Many of the special effects used in the movie look outdated and are unimpressive by today’s standards.
