My Experience for The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

Lloyd Kaufman

Once upon a time there was an old tree, and it was The Giving Tree. Everyone loved this tree, because no matter what you asked of it, it would always give to you.

One day I decided to ask the tree for something special. I said, “Dear Giving Tree, can you please give me some shelter?” The tree said with a smile, “Of course I will! You can stay in my branches.”

So that’s what I did. Every day I would come back to the same spot and sit in its branches. It felt like home. I would laugh and sing and make friends with the birds that lived in the tree as well.

I never felt alone when I was in The Giving Tree. It felt like it was part of my family. Whenever I needed something, all I had to do was ask and the tree would provide.

One day I realized how much the tree had done for me, so I wanted to give something back. So every day after school, I made sure to take care of the Giving Tree – pruning its branches and taking out any dead leaves or twigs.

It was like a part of me was living inside The Giving Tree, so taking care of it felt like taking care of myself. It meant so much to me knowing that this wonderful tree had given me everything I needed without expecting anything in return.

That is why I love The Giving Tree. This book not only teaches us about friendship and giving, but also reminds us of the importance of taking care of one another.

What I don’t Like

Product Disadvantages:
1. The story does not have a clear resolution.
2. It is a complex morality tale without an easy solution or answer.
3. It is quite dark in tone and can be interpreted differently by different readers.
4. Some people may find the message of the story to be too depressing or bleak.
5. There is no real resolution or happy ending to the story.
