My Experience for Gomorrah: A Personal Journey into the Violent International Empire of Naples’ Organized Crime System

Lloyd Kaufman

This is my story of Gomorrah: A Personal Journey into the Violent International Empire of Naples’ Organized Crime System.

It all started when I was invited to join a special tour that promised to take me deep into the underbelly of the city. I was a bit hesitant at first, but curiosity got the best of me and I soon found myself standing in the heart of one of Italy’s most notorious criminal syndicates.

The tour guide explained that we would be visiting places where ruthless criminals made their home and that we should proceed with caution. As we walked through the narrow streets, I felt like I had stepped into another world. Everywhere I looked, there were signs of an underground network of organized crime.

We stopped at one point to get a closer look at a graffiti-covered wall, which our tour guide informed us was part of a Neapolitan gang. The symbols painted on it were both beautiful and chilling at the same time. We also visited some of the more luxurious establishments owned by these gangs, such as casinos, nightclubs and restaurants.

But what really made this journey memorable for me was when we ventured into one of Naples’ infamous camorra neighborhoods. Here we could see first-hand how these criminal groups operated, from drug trafficking to extortion rackets. It was surreal and eye-opening experience that I will never forget.

I am so glad that I decided to take this journey with Gomorrah: A Personal Journey into the Violent International Empire of Naples’ Organized Crime System.
