My Experience for I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912

Lloyd Kaufman

I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912, and I’m still here to tell the tale! It was a night like any other – until it wasn’t. The crew had been warned about icebergs, but no one imagined what was coming.

The icy waters of the Atlantic seemed so peaceful and beautiful as I looked out across them from the deck. Little did I know that within minutes, they would be trying to take me down with them.

The moment we struck the iceberg was unforgettable. There was an enormous shock, followed by chaos and screams. People were scrambling everywhere, trying to get off the boat before it went down.

I clambered onto a lifeboat and watched in horror as the Titanic sunk into the depths of the ocean. It felt like an eternity before we finally made it to safety on another ship.

To this day, I’m still astounded at my luck in surviving that fateful night. Even though it was over a century ago, I will never forget the sinking of the Titanic.
