The first time I used it, I felt like a true Jedi Knight! As soon as I placed Luke Skywalker in the pit, the Rancor came alive. He was huge and imposing, but he didn’t scare me. Instead, he made me feel empowered!
Still, I was wary of the Rancor, so I made sure to not let him get too close. Fortunately, the set comes with many defensive features like collapsing stones and hidden compartments that help protect Luke from harm.
Overall, getting my LEGO Star Wars Rancor Pit (75005) was one of the best decisions I ever made. This set is perfect for anyone who loves LEGO or Star Wars – and who wants to experience their own epic battles!

How to Create a Rancor Pit Scene with LEGO Star Wars Set 75005
Bring the dark side of Star Wars to life with LEGO Star Wars Set 75005: Rancor Pit. This set contains 665 pieces and is suitable for ages 9-14. With this set, kids can recreate the epic scene from Return of the Jedi where Luke Skywalker bravely faces off against the fearsome rancor.
To build your own Rancor Pit, begin by sorting all of the components into groups. You will need to locate two large gray pillars that make up the entrance, as well as six brown blocks for the flooring. The walls of the pit are made up of a variety of different pieces in shades of gray and yellow. There are also several weapons and accessories included such as spears, swords, and a bone.
Once you have all the pieces sorted out, start assembling the entrance. Attach both gray pillars to one another and then attach them to the base plate. Take one of the yellow wall panels and place it against the pillars to complete the entranceway.
Next, move on to building the walls. Connect two rows of yellow blocks together with one row of gray blocks between them. Place these walls around either side of the entranceway and use any remaining blocks to fill in any gaps or round off corners at the top.
Now that your walls are done, you can focus on building the interior. In this section you will place some of the smaller accessories including a treasure chest filled with coins, a skeleton hand holding a key, and a prison cell door with bars on it. You will also need to assemble one more block onto the bottom left corner which serves as an entrance ramp for your figures.
Finally, it’s time to construct the rancor itself. Start by attaching its head and body together using green plates and then attach its legs using black plates. Once everything is connected, give it some arms by attaching two gray claws at either side. Finally add some details such as eyes and teeth using small black pieces and white tiles respectively.
Your Rancor Pit is now ready for play! All that’s left is for your figures to take center stage in this epic battle between good and evil!
