My Experience for The Little Bunny who Told the Truth

Lloyd Kaufman

Once upon a time there was a little bunny named Foo who loved telling the truth. No matter what anyone said, he just couldn’t help himself!

One day, Foo was out for a stroll near the forest, when he stumbled upon an old fairy who had been trapped in a tree since before Foo’s birth. The fairy asked him to free her. “Little bunny, if you can set me free, I will grant you one wish!” Foo didn’t hesitate – he immediately agreed.

With one mighty hop, Foo freed the fairy from her prison and she granted him his wish. “You shall have the power of truth-telling, no matter what!” she said with a twinkle in her eye.

From that day on, Foo could not tell a single lie! He quickly became well known among his friends and family for always speaking the truth. But this power was not without its challenges…

Foo soon encountered a pack of wolves while walking through the forest. They asked him where they could find some tasty treats to eat. Without hesitation, Foo told them exactly where to find the best berries in town! Unfortunately, this led to some unexpected consequences…

Despite his good intentions, Foo had unintentionally caused mayhem in the town. Everyone was furious with him for revealing their secret berry stash! But after much discussion and consideration, everyone finally came around and realized that it was better to have honest friends like Foo than secretive ones.

And so ends our story about the Little Bunny Who Told The Truth. If you want to join in on the fun, pick up your own copy of The Little Bunny Who Told The Truth today!

What I don’t Like

1. Limited vocabulary: Some readers may find the limited vocabulary and simple sentence structure too easy for their age group.
2. Not appealing to all ages: While younger children will enjoy the story, some older children may find it too childish in nature.
3. No illustrations: This book does not have any illustrations which may be an issue for some children who prefer books with pictures.
4. Repetitive story line: The book follows a repetitive pattern of the bunny getting into trouble and then learning a lesson at the end, which can become predictable after a few readings.

How to Teach Kids about Honesty Using The Little Bunny Who Told the Truth

The Little Bunny Who Told the Truth by Margaret Wild and illustrated by Deborah Niland is a wonderful book for teaching children the importance of honesty. With its endearing characters and delightful illustrations, it’s a great way to help kids understand the consequences of telling lies, as well as why it’s important to always be truthful. Here are some tips for using this charming children’s story to help your kids learn how to practice honesty in their everyday lives.

Discuss the Story with Your Kids

After you’ve read The Little Bunny Who Told the Truth, take a few moments to talk with your kids about what they think happened in the story. Ask them if they think that Little Bunny made the right decision by being honest with his parents, or would it have been better to tell a lie? Talk with them about how lying can cause problems, while honesty will always be rewarded eventually.

Encourage Open Communication

It can be difficult for young children to tell their parents the truth when they feel like they’re going to get into trouble. Encourage open communication between you and your kids so that they know that telling the truth is always an option. Let them know that even if something bad happens because of their mistake, you will still love and support them no matter what.

Create Examples Together

Help your child come up with scenarios where honesty could be practiced, such as if someone accidentally breaks something or takes something from another person without asking first. Talk through these examples with your child and discuss how they would handle each situation honestly. This will give them plenty of practice in understanding when it’s appropriate to tell the truth versus when a white lie might be necessary (such as saying “I don’t like your new haircut!” to a friend).

The Little Bunny Who Told the Truth is an excellent tool for teaching children about the power of honesty and helping them develop good character traits that will last into adulthood. By discussing this book together and encouraging open communication within your family, you can help ensure that your kids grow up knowing how important it is to always tell the truth!
