The story starts off with a bang as protagonist Tomas Piety and his partner, Nonna, investigate a strange cult known as Midnight Mass. As they delve deeper and deeper into the cult’s dark secrets, they discover that there is something far more sinister at work than anyone ever imagined.

My favorite part of the book was definitely the way in which Wilson weaves together Tomas’ personal journey with his investigation of the cult. He creates an intense sense of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the novel.

But what I love most about Midnight Mass is how it manages to take many of today’s pressing social issues — from religious extremism to drug addiction — and weave them into a thrilling narrative.
