As they struggle to adjust to their new environment, they face racism and discrimination at every turn. This is where Mina meets Demetrius, a charming African American man who she falls for—but their romance isn’t easy: it’s forbidden by both cultures.

Mississippi Masala is a powerful tale of love, loss, and cultural identity. It paints a beautiful picture of how two people from different backgrounds can come together despite all odds.
