I was looking for a movie to watch and I stumbled onto Norwegian Wood (Movie) – Vintage International. I had no idea what it was about, but the cover looked interesting so I decided to give it a try.
Boy, am I glad that I did! This movie is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It’s set in Norway and follows the story of Toru Watanabe, who’s trying to come to terms with his feelings for two different women.
The cinematography is beautiful and the story is both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. The acting is top-notch with Kenichi Matsuyama playing Toru as an introspective and passionate young man.
Plus, the soundtrack is amazing! It features some of my favorite songs from the Beatles’ Norwegian Wood album. There’s even a scene where Toru plays his guitar while singing along to one of their tunes. It gave me chills.
