When I first watched it, I was absolutely mesmerized. It follows Viktor’s journey from his early days as a Soviet air force officer to becoming the “Merchant of Death” in Africa and South America.

The film is so gripping that you almost forget it’s a documentary! The way it is shot and edited makes it feel like a movie, but it doesn’t shy away from showing the truth about Viktor’s life and business dealings.

The Notorious Mr. Bout is also an incredibly informative film. It provides insight into the global arms trade, from how weapons are traded to how they are used. It also gives an up close and personal look at Viktor himself, showing how he operated and why he became so successful.
