My Experience for The Duke and I (Bridgerton Book 1)

Lloyd Kaufman

I recently read the Duke and I (Bridgerton Book 1) and it was amazing! The Duke and I by Julia Quinn is a charming, funny, and romantic story about the love between Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, and Daphne Bridgerton.

When I finished the book, I felt like I had been taken on a wild ride with Simon and Daphne. From their first meeting to their passionate kiss in the garden, every moment was thrilling. It was so much fun to watch them fall in love with each other despite all the obstacles they faced.

Simon is a duke who isn’t interested in marriage but has to marry in order to save his family’s reputation. Daphne is a young woman of high status who wants nothing more than to be married to someone she loves. They try their best to resist their growing feelings for each other, but fate just won’t let them stay apart!

The characters were delightful and the writing was clever and witty. I laughed out loud at some of their antics, especially when Simon tried to teach Daphne how to dance or when they kept making up ridiculous stories about why they were spending so much time together!

If you’re looking for a romantic book that’s full of surprises, The Duke and I (Bridgerton Book 1) is definitely worth a read!

What I don’t Like

1. Some readers find the book overly romantic.
2. The male protagonist is often portrayed as too perfect.
3. The characters can come off as too one-dimensional and predictable.
4. The plot lacks depth and complexity.
5. There are some instances of outdated language and social norms.
