I’m so thankful that I decided to pick up Requiem for a Dream, because it’s been the most amazing experience! It takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, with an incredible story and outstanding performances.

The movie follows the lives of four characters, each struggling to achieve their dreams and ambitions in life, while also dealing with addiction. Ellen Burstyn gives an Oscar-winning performance as Sara Goldfarb, mother of Harry (Jared Leto). She’s desperate to fit in with high society and turns to diet pills to make her dream come true.

Harry and his girlfriend Marion (Jennifer Connelly) are trying to make something out of their lives by becoming drug dealers. Meanwhile, Harry’s friend Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) is trying to escape the ghetto.

Requiem for a Dream is one of those movies that will stay with you long after you watch it. Its powerful message about addiction and its devastating consequences will leave you feeling disturbed yet strangely inspired. The intense drama and superb acting make this film unforgettable.
