My Experience for Scarface (1983) Al Pacino

Ray Cooley

I’ll never forget the first time I watched Scarface. It was like I had been transported to a completely different world. Al Pacino’s performance as Tony Montana was nothing short of amazing, and it felt like he had been born for this role. The film is an electrifying exploration of excess, power and ambition–all set against the backdrop of Miami in the 1980s.

Every scene was packed with intensity and drama, from the iconic opening sequence to Tony’s epic rise and fall. One of my favorite scenes is when Tony declares “Say hello to my little friend!” before unloading the infamous M16 assault rifle into a room full of his enemies. People often forget about how funny Scarface can be too; between lines like “You wanna play rough? OK!” and some over-the-top moments, you can’t help but laugh out loud.

Scarface is one of my all-time favorite films and I’ve watched it countless times since that first viewing. It’s always an intense experience and every time I feel like I’m learning something new about Tony’s story or uncovering an overlooked detail. Whether you’re a fan of Al Pacino or just looking for a classic gangster movie, Scarface is definitely worth watching!

What I don’t Like

1. Violent and graphic content throughout the movie
2. Some viewers may find Al Pacino’s character unsympathetic or abhorrent
3. Excessive profanity, drug use and sexual content
4. Certain scenes may be too intense for some viewers
5. Overlong runtime of nearly three hours

How to Be a Successful Gangster Like Tony Montana

If you’re a fan of Scarface and the iconic character Tony Montana, portrayed by Al Pacino in the 1983 classic, you may have wondered how to emulate his success. Becoming a successful gangster is no easy feat. While it’s not a legitimate career choice, there are still some valuable lessons to be learned from Tony Montana and his rise to power.

First, don’t be afraid to take risks. When Tony arrived in America with nothing but a few hundred dollars in his pocket, he quickly went into business smuggling drugs. He made risky choices that paid off big in the end, such as when he single-handedly took out Frank Lopez and gave himself control of one of the largest cocaine empires in all of Miami.

Second, stay humble. Despite achieving great success, Tony never let it go to his head. He was always willing to help those less fortunate than him, like Manny and Elvira, who he ultimately adopted as family.

Third, know your enemies and keep them close. Even though Tony had plenty of enemies trying to take him down, he often kept them close so he could see what they were up to. By keeping an eye on these foes he was able to stay one step ahead of them at all times.

Fourth, build strong relationships with trustworthy people who have your back. Throughout Scarface, we see Tony’s loyalty to his best friend Manny as well as members of his organization like Omar Suarez and Sosa’s henchman Angel Fernandez. These relationships helped ensure his success by having allies who were willing to defend him whenever needed.

Finally, stay focused on your goals despite any obstacles that come your way. When faced with overwhelming odds or even death at the hands of Sosa’s men, Tony was never deterred from achieving his dreams of becoming the biggest drug lord in town.

So if you want to follow in Tony Montana’s footsteps and become a successful gangster like him, remember these five key lessons—take risks, stay humble, know your enemies and keep them close, build strong relationships with trustworthy people who have your back, and stay focused on your goals despite any obstacles that come your way.
