My Experience for Snow Day by Lester L. Laminack

I remember it like it was yesterday… the first time I experienced a Snow Day. It was magical! I awoke to find my bedroom window covered in snowflakes and a thick blanket of white covering the ground outside. I leapt from my bed, donned my warmest clothes, and ran outside to play.

The snow was so soft and powdery that I felt like I was walking on clouds! I made snow angels in the yard and had snowball fights with my siblings before building an epic snowman. We used carrots for eyes, sticks for arms, and a hat that we found in the garage for his head. He looked so alive and happy!

Afterwards, we all went inside to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while we watched the Snow Day movie on TV. The story of a group of children who are determined to make their own fun during a snowstorm had us laughing out loud. They created their own sledding course, made ice sculptures, and played hockey in the streets – all while trying to outrun the local police!
