My Experience for A Soldier’s Story

Ray Cooley

I never thought I’d be a soldier. But when I watched A Soldier’s Story, starring Denzel Washington, my mind was made up. It was an inspiring movie – it showed me that even in the midst of chaos and horror, one can still find courage, honor and dignity.

The movie follows the story of an African-American soldier who is sent to investigate a murder in a segregated military camp. As he investigates, he discovers secrets hidden deep within the camp and learns about the power of loyalty and friendship among the soldiers.

I was so moved by the film that I decided to enlist in the army. After some months of training, I found myself serving in Iraq. It wasn’t easy; life there was full of danger and hardship. But I remembered what A Soldier’s Story had taught me: to stay strong and determined no matter what comes your way.

My friends from back home would often ask me why I chose to join the military, and I would tell them about A Soldier’s Story. Even though it was just a movie, it gave me strength and courage to face any challenge that came my way. And for that, I am truly thankful!

What I don’t Like
