I was a big fan of the original Star Trek series from the start, and I was really excited when I heard that Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 1 had been released on Amazon. I’d watched all 79 episodes of the show as it aired in 1966 and 1967, and now I could enjoy them all over again.
The set includes all 29 episodes from the first season, along with special features like deleted scenes and commentaries from cast and crew members. I was especially impressed by the remastered sound and picture quality – they looked better than ever!
I also appreciated some of the bonus content included on the discs. There were interviews with Leonard Nimoy (Spock), William Shatner (Kirk), DeForest Kelley (McCoy) and other actors who played crew members on the Enterprise. I even learned a few interesting tidbits about how Star Trek was created, thanks to these interviews.
