Hellboy – The Two-Disc Special Edition: A Review

“Hellboy”, directed by Guillermo del Toro, is an incredible dark fantasy action movie about a group of paranormal investigators who battle with supernatural forces. The two-disc special edition of the film includes both the theatrical and extended versions of the movie, along with plenty of extras that make this a must-own for any Hellboy fan.

The film stars Ron Perlman as Hellboy, a demon from hell who was summoned to Earth as an infant in 1944 and adopted by a kindly professor (John Hurt). With his superhuman strength, stone-like skin, and willingness to stand up for what’s right no matter the odds, Hellboy is determined to save the world from a looming apocalypse. Alongside him are Abraham “Abe” Sapien (Doug Jones), Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), and Johann Krauss (David Hyde Pierce), all members of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) tasked with battling creatures from otherworldly realms.

The two-disc special edition of “Hellboy” offers audio commentaries from director del Toro, plus interviews with cast and crew members. It also features deleted scenes, making-of featurettes, animatics, and much more. This is an action-packed set that fans won’t want to miss out on.
