My Experience for There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly

Lloyd Kaufman

Once upon a time there was an old lady who swallowed a fly. She wasn’t too sure why she did it, but she figured it would make her day more interesting.

So off she went in search of other creatures to swallow. She came across a spider and thought “Why not?” So she swallowed the spider – which wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her.

Not satisfied with that experience, she moved on to find something else. This time, she encountered a bird and decided to give it a try. The bird was much bigger than the fly or the spider, so it took some effort to get it down her throat.

Next up was a cat – and this one was really tricky! But eventually, with some creative maneuvering, she managed to swallow it whole.

Her appetite now fully whetted, she moved on to locate a dog. It proved difficult to fit the dog down her throat, but after much pushing and shoving and gagging and choking – success!

Finally, the old lady stumbled across a horse. Now this was really going to be a challenge…but amazingly enough, after some serious internal rearranging, she managed to get the horse down as well!

Moral of the story: Never underestimate what an old lady can do, especially if that old lady is willing to swallow anything.

What I don’t Like

1. Narrative is too short: The children’s storybook follows a simple format and the narrative is only a few pages long, making it hard for readers to delve deeper into the subject matter.
2. Illustrations are not vivid enough: While the illustrations in this book are colorful and unique, they do not have great detail or depth of color to engage readers.
3. Limited educational content: There is limited educational content in this book as it is primarily written for entertainment purposes.
4. Not suitable for older children: This book is better suited for young children since the story and words are quite basic and straightforward.
