My Experience for Titanic: The Original Catastrophe – As Published at the Time of the Sinking
It was April 14th, 1912. The Titanic, the largest and most luxurious ship in the world, had set sail two days prior on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. Little did I know that this voyage would become one of history’s greatest disasters.
As I looked out across the vast sea, my heart filled with excitement and anticipation for what lay ahead. But little did I know that soon enough, these feelings would be replaced by fear and despair.
I remember well the fateful night when disaster struck. It was approximately 11:40pm when I heard a loud crash. A chill ran down my spine as I realized it was an iceberg that had collided with our ship.
As panic spread throughout the passengers, it became clear that we were sinking quickly. The crew worked hard to reduce the number of casualties but their efforts were in vain. In less than two and a half hours, the Titanic had sunk to its watery grave.
No one could have predicted the tragedy that befell our ship that night. Thankfully, there were some survivors who lived to tell the tale of this catastrophic event. Thanks to them, we are able to learn from history and never forget the lessons of Titanic: The Original Catastrophe.
