My Experience for How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell

Lloyd Kaufman

My older brother was the one who introduced me to How to Train Your Dragon, written by Cressida Cowell. He had read it multiple times and kept recommending it to me, so I finally relented and decided to give it a go.

Little did I know what an adventure I was in for! As soon as I opened the book, I was captivated by the amazing world of dragons that Cressida Cowell had created. I was amazed by the detailed descriptions of each dragon species and couldn’t wait to follow the protagonist Hiccup’s thrilling journey through Berk, a Viking island.

The best part of How to Train Your Dragon was how humorous it was. Even though there were some intense moments, Cowell always managed to include some witty dialogue or jokes that made me chuckle out loud. My favorite character was Toothless, a Night Fury dragon with a huge personality. The way Cowell described his mischievous behavior made him seem so real and alive!

Another thing I admire about this book is Cowell’s ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand. She explains everything from dragon anatomy to Viking culture in a way that is understandable, even for someone like me who knows nothing about either subject. It made it easier for me to keep up with Hiccup’s adventures without getting too confused or overwhelmed.

If you’re looking for an exciting and funny story packed with action and adventure, How to Train Your Dragon is perfect for you! You won’t be able to put it down until you’ve finished every last page!

What I don’t Like

Product Disadvantages:

1. The story is slightly predictable with some of the characters behaving as expected for their character type.
2. The illustrations are quite basic, lacking the detail and vibrancy found in other, more expensive products.
3. It can be difficult to follow the plot at times, as there are a number of different characters that interact throughout the book.
4. The text can be a bit dry and uninspiring, making it hard to keep children interested in reading it.
