I’m an avid radio enthusiast and I recently upgraded to the Uniden BC125AT Handheld Scanner. I was really impressed with the range of features it has, from Alpha-Tagged channels to Close Call Technology. And at a lightweight 11 ounces, it’s perfect for carrying around!

But what really sold me on this scanner is its intuitive programming. With the easy-to-use keypad and context sensitive help, programming the frequencies I wanted was a breeze. It’s even pre-programmed with over 50,000 frequencies so all I had to do was select what I wanted.

The backlit LCD display is also great for low light conditions so I can see everything clearly no matter what time of day it is. And with 200 channels in 10 banks, I can store all my favorite frequencies.

Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase. This handheld scanner is a great investment for any radio enthusiast and I highly recommend it!

What I don’t Like

Product Disadvantages List:
1. Limited Frequency Range: The Uniden BC125AT Handheld Scanner has a frequency range of 25-54, 108-174, and 406-512 MHz. This is great for listening to VHF and UHF communications, but it lacks the ability to listen to 800 MHz frequencies.
2. It has limited alpha tagging capabilities. There are only 10 alpha tags available for programming in the BC125AT scanner.
3. Lacks advanced features: The Uniden BC125AT does not have many advanced features such as CTCSS/DCS tones or digital modes.
4. It has a limited memory capacity. The BC125AT can store up to 300 channels in its memory which may not be enough for some users.
5. Its scanning speed is slow. The BC125AT takes about 2 seconds to scan through each channel which can be quite slow if there are many channels programmed into the scanner.

How to Easily Program and Operate the Uniden BC125AT Handheld Scanner

The Uniden BC125AT Handheld Scanner is a great tool for anyone who needs to monitor local emergency services and other radio communications. With 200 channels, 10 banks, PC programming capabilities and more, it’s easy to get up and running quickly. Here are a few tips on how to easily program and operate your BC125AT scanner.

1. Programming

The first step in using your Uniden scanner is programming. This can be done through the keypad on the device itself, or with the help of a computer. To program via the keypad, use the “Manual Entry” option from the main menu. You will then be prompted to enter each channel with its frequency, modulation type and alpha tag by hand. If you’d prefer to do this via your computer, download the free Butel ARC-125 software that allows you to connect your scanner directly via USB for programming purposes.

2. Search Mode

Once you have programmed your channels into the device memory, you can use the “Search” mode to find active frequencies nearby. To access this mode, press the dedicated Search button near the top of the keypad. The scanner will then scan through all of its programmed frequencies in search of active transmissions. Once one is found, it will remain locked onto that frequency until transmission ends or another signal takes precedence.

3. Close Call Mode

This feature allows you to detect signals even when they’re not actively being broadcasted in your area. When enabled, it will alert you any time it detects a signal within range so long as it matches one of its preprogrammed frequencies – even if it didn’t come through loud and clear initially. To activate Close Call mode, press the dedicated button near the top of the keypad marked “Close.”

With these three simple steps, you’ll be able to easily program and operate your Uniden BC125AT Handheld Scanner for monitoring emergency services and other radio communications in no time!
